Privacy at a Glance

Vāṇī AI is built on a Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) architecture. This means we do not process your audio on our own backend servers. Your scripts and API keys communicate directly from your browser to Google's infrastructure. We do not save, sell, or read your generated content.

1. Introduction to Vāṇī AI

Welcome to Vāṇī AI (accessible at freetexttovoiceai.in). We provide a free, web-based graphical user interface (GUI) designed to help digital creators, educators, and storytellers convert text into high-fidelity speech using advanced neural models.

At Vāṇī AI, we believe that powerful technology should not come at the cost of your privacy. Our core philosophy is data minimization. We only collect the data absolutely necessary to keep the website running, and we explicitly avoid collecting the sensitive intellectual property (your scripts and API keys) that you use to generate your content.

This Privacy Policy explains in simple English how we handle information when you visit our website, use our tools, and interact with our ecosystem.

2. The "Bring Your Own Key" (BYOK) Architecture

To understand our privacy practices, you must first understand how our platform is engineered. Vāṇī AI does not provide its own proprietary text-to-speech API. Instead, our platform acts as a secure bridge.

We utilize the Google Gemini Text-to-Speech models (currently Gemini 2.5 Flash TTS, though models may update over time). To use our studio, you must bring your own personal Google API Key.

At no point in this cycle does your API key or your written script pass through a central database owned by Vāṇī AI. We do not have a backend database that logs the content you are generating.

3. API Key Handling and Local Storage

Your Google API key acts as your password to access Google's services. Protecting it is our top priority.

Where is my API key stored?

When you enter your API key into our studio, we use a web technology called Browser Local Storage. This means the key is saved directly on your physical device (your mobile phone or computer's hard drive), inside your specific browser (like Chrome or Safari).

What we DO NOT do with your API key:

Because the key is stored in your local browser, it improves your user experience. You do not have to paste the key every time you refresh the page. If you wish to remove your key, you can click the "Reset Studio Key" button at the bottom of the studio, or simply clear your browser's cache and site data. This instantly deletes the key from your device.

4. Script Privacy and Content Ownership

Content creators often use our platform to narrate proprietary courses, unreleased YouTube scripts, and private corporate training materials. We respect your intellectual property.

Because of our client-side architecture, Vāṇī AI does not intentionally collect, store, or monitor the text scripts you paste into the editor. When you close the browser tab, the text disappears from our interface.

Furthermore, you own the audio you generate. Vāṇī AI does not claim copyright over the WAV files you download. You are free to use them for commercial purposes, including YouTube monetization, podcasting, and social media advertising, provided your content complies with local laws and Google's Terms of Service.

5. Data We May Collect

While we do not collect your scripts or API keys, running a global website requires us to understand basic traffic patterns to ensure the site remains fast and accessible.

We may automatically collect non-personally identifying information, including:

This data is anonymous. We do not ask for your name, email address, physical address, or credit card details to use the core TTS studio.

6. Third-Party Services and Google Integrations

Vāṇī AI relies on several trusted third-party services to function safely and efficiently. These services have their own privacy policies.

Google Gemini API

The core text-to-speech generation is powered by Google. When you generate audio, your text script is sent securely to Google's servers for processing. Please review the Google Privacy Policy and their terms regarding API data processing.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to collect the anonymous traffic data mentioned in Section 5. Google Analytics uses "cookies" to track visitor interactions. This helps us understand which creator guides are most helpful so we can write better content.

Google AdSense

To keep this platform 100% free without charging subscriptions, we display advertisements provided by Google AdSense. AdSense may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.

GitHub Pages / Cloudflare

Our website is hosted using secure global CDNs (Content Delivery Networks) like GitHub Pages to ensure fast loading times globally. These networks automatically log basic request data (like IP addresses) for security and anti-DDoS purposes.

PushDotify (Push Notifications)

We use PushDotify to offer browser push notifications (e.g., "Subscribe to get notified about our latest posts"). If you opt-in, PushDotify manages the secure delivery of these alerts. You can easily revoke this permission at any time through your browser settings.

7. Understanding Cookies

A "cookie" is a small text file placed on your device to help websites remember your preferences.

We use cookies primarily for:

You have full control over cookies. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you disable local storage, the studio will forget your API key upon refresh, requiring you to paste it again.

8. User Responsibilities

Privacy and security are shared responsibilities. While we provide a secure interface, you must also practice safe digital habits:

A Note on Absolute Security

While our BYOK model heavily improves privacy by removing backend database risks, no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. We employ reasonable safeguards, but we cannot guarantee absolute security against advanced malware or keyloggers that may exist on your personal computer.

9. Children's Privacy

Vāṇī AI is built for professional content creators, educators, and adults. Our services are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take necessary actions.

10. International Users

Vāṇī AI is accessible globally. If you are accessing our website from outside India, please be aware that your information (such as analytics data) may be transferred to, stored, and processed in locations where our third-party servers (like Google or GitHub) operate. By using our website, you consent to this transfer.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

The digital landscape and artificial intelligence laws are evolving rapidly. We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, legal requirements, or our operational practices. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.

12. Contact Information

If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback regarding this Privacy Policy, or if you need assistance regarding data protection, please reach out to us. You can contact our team directly through the official Contact Page available on our website.

No. Your API key is stored strictly in your own browser's local storage. We do not upload it to any database.

2. Who can see my text scripts?

Only you and Google's processing servers. Vāṇī AI bypasses intermediate backend storage, meaning your scripts go straight to the generation engine.

3. Can administrators read my scripts?

No. We do not have a dashboard or database that logs what users are typing into the studio text area.

4. Where exactly is my API key stored?

It is kept in `localStorage` under the variable name `vani_v5_key` directly on your hard drive/mobile storage via your browser.

Local storage is isolated to your device and our specific website URL. However, you must ensure your computer is free from malware or viruses.

9. Does Google store my scripts?

When making API calls, Google temporarily processes the text to create audio. You must review Google's API privacy policies to understand their exact data retention periods.
